ps3

The clock bug that has annoyed millions of PS3 users has been resolved, according to official reports from Sony, although they are not revealing what caused the bug in the first place.

The problem was a simple one, although devastating to users: PS3 models, not including the Slim model, had a problem with the internal clock which recognised the year 2010 as a leap year. The problem has been resolved, and if problems continue to persist, users are advised to visit playstation.com to remedy the issue.

One of the side effects for gamers is the fact that trophies seem to have been erased. However, this problem is easily solved simply buying gaining a new trophy. Once a new trophy is won, the previously won trophies will appear on the list. This was a result of the console’s inability to connect with the network.

This hasn’t exactly enraged users, who found the glitch annoying at the worst, now are breathing sighs of relief.

We will have to wait and see if this problem resurfaces in 2012, which is an actual leap year.
