Although computer game sales went up over the last quarter, spend on advertising by the computer gaming industry is thought to fall shorter than usual before Christmas, experts stated.
The well know computer games retailer, ‘Game’ has its figures showing that highly popular computer games, like ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2′ have worked to counter act the effects of the general recession and credit crunch, by reviving spend on computer games.
The retailer went on to state that sales in their stores dropped nearly 14% in the 18 weeks running up to December the 5th, when looked at against a 16.6 percentile fall in the 33 weeks running up the the 18th Sept. The ‘Game’ retailer is now said to be looking forwards to a:

— All be it cautiously!
Modern Warfare 2 broke industry records last month, when it sold over 3 million copies, and the game developer ‘Activision’ have a milti million £ campaign to backup the launch of the extremely popular game.
Experts at MCV, a computer games trade magazine, state that game developers have seemingly decided to spend much less on gaming advertising this year, with the spend for the year nearing the £100m mark, whereas it is usually around 3 x that amount, at least.
