Motorola Developing Mobile Phone For The Blinds

US cell phone vendor, Motorola, work together with National Federation of The Blind developing cell phone technology specialized for the blinds.

In the future, Motorola will provide fully audio feature to inform about cell phone capabilities such as battery level, signal strength, phone book and caller ID. On the other hand, cell phone also can produce sound when entrying contact or another settings.

This special cell phone for the blind expected to be released on 2010. Motorola and the federation also will have another technology innovations which will be embedded on the cell phone. As quoted from Cellular-News, Tuesday (15/9/2009).

According to President of National Federation of the Blind Dr. Marc Mauer, in the era where the productivity and success are influenced a lot by access to mobile technology such as cell phone, very important to the blind in the US have similar access.

“And we committ to produce cell phone products which able to give telecommunication access for them.” Doctor said.
