Not all tech and gadget tools that we have are safe from damage. Well, for video-game console,  which console  is most vulnerable and frequently damaged?

Studies of SquareTrade will answer this question. According to the study, Microsoft’s console output, namely the Xbox 36 is the winner in the affairs of damage to the system that most often occur.

From the study revealed, 1 of 4 units of the Xbox 360 have been reported in the system failure in the first 2 years.

Incidence rate experienced failure of Xbox even many times higher than similar consoles. Failure rates as  big as 8 times more than the Nintendo Wii and twice compared to the Sony PlayStation 3.

As quoted from InformationWeek, Sunday (6/9/2009), most of the damage to the PS3 and Xbox 360 is the ability to read the disc (disc read erorrs) and output issues. Meanwhile, on the Wii it is about power and remote control.

Report said the biggest failure occurred in the Xbox 360 is the E74 error marked with a red circle on hardware. Red circle is often referred to as the “red ring of death”. Damage resulting red circle on this and lock of console error message “E74″.

Aware of the damage sort by their users, Microsoft in April has extended a special warranty programs to cover the failures.
