On Monday, Samsung electronics said that out of seven million, three million global Galaxy S smartphone shipments were made to United States since its launch in July. Sales were active in all four top operators of United States who sell these phones according to Chief Marketing officer Paul Golden. Galaxy S is based on Google’s Android software.

Paul Golden said, they are in such a situation where they wish they had more supply, he was talking of an event where the phonemaker released a new Galaxy S phone. But he would not say anything on how bad the shortage in supply is or when it will get better but he said the important obstacle was AMOLED display technology of Samsung, that goes inside the screens of the phone.

Mark Sue, analyst of RBC said, shipment of Samsung’s U.S Galaxy S was a good figure. The success of the phone here and all over the world is still slow compared to Apple’s iPhone. According to Apple Inc, it sold more than 3 million iPhone 4s in its first three weeks.

iPhone is sold by one operator AT&T in U.S, which is the second biggest service there. And Galaxy S phones are being sold by all the top operators of U.S. On Monday Verizon Wireless and Vodafone Group Plc announced that they would sell Galaxy S device. Operators such as, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Nextel are also selling devices of Samsung.
