Executives of Apple are trying to comfort the disappointed customers by the news on 27th October that the much awaited White iPhone would be delayed until next spring. According to Apple the production of a phone with white plastic became more challenging than the phone with black plastic. The reasons remain confused, and users have been waiting for the white version.

Making white phones does not strain the phone production technology limits. Earlier in the days of rotary dials, Western Electric was making white phones. And since then companies like Panasonic and GE have sold white cordless phones.

And white color doesn’t keep a smart phone from working. RIM has been producing white BlackBerrys for last two years and has also announced a new version of Bold which will also come in white. So it is not something related to manufacturing. According to some sources of Apple, the white home button is not matching the case. But that is not true because black phone buttons don’t match either.

May be, by making a white iPhone, Apple might lose its position of being the best phone out in the market. Or they are scared of being too much like RIM. On the other hand it’s worries of losing competitive benefits. Because Android phones are available in silver and black and not in white. Is there a fear of losing the silver and black market to Android masses?
