One of every two Americans are being considered as a user of Facebook, it would leave behind only China and India in population if it were a country. It has an estimated value of more than $30 billion, which is larger than that of Starbucks.
Hollywood film “The Social Network” made on Facebook, is opening nationwide on Friday and is already in discussions which are prompting of Academy Awards. Many of the details of the film are contested, but the very opinion that average moviegoers will go to this film built around the history of a tech company emphasizes the extent to which Facebook has become important culture.
A former executive at Web payment company PayPal, Dave McClure said, it is something more than a just geek phenomenon. He is now an investor in tech start-ups. World’s largest social network Facebook allows users to connect with their friends of real world and online awareness and do everything from sharing photos and personal news to playing games. Grandmothers, politicians, and rock starts come under 500 million people using the service around the world. This helped it beat Google Inc as the website on which American users spend the most time in a month.
