BlackBerry to Launch iPad Rival
RIM is all set to launch tablet style computer called BlackPad next week in San Francisco at a developer’s conference. According to a source, the Black pad is set to launch at the end of this year. This new tablet would be a rival to Apple’s iPad according to some people.
The RIM tablet will feature new operating system by QNX Software Systems instead of BlackBerry 6 OS, QNX was acquired earlier this year. BlackPad is expected to come with built in camera and a 7 inch touch screen.
Recently Microsoft confirmed that it is working with partners to create rivals to iPad. Share of global smartphones sales of BlackBerry fell by one percent to 18 percent in the second quarter of 2010. The company is facing on going competition from smartphones powered by Apple and Android.
