Tablet Device To Be Launched By RIM
According to Wall Street Journal, RIM (Research in Motion) may use a conference of developers next week to announce plans for tablet computer to compete with Appleās iPad and Amazon. RIM, the company which makes BlackBerry smartphone has been expected to join the tablet market this year with BlackPad.
Tablet computers stand between smartphones and laptops. One of the newpapers said, the device will come with 7 inch touchscreen, one or two cameras, Bluetooth and broadband connections. And it will be able to connect to cellular networks only through a BlackBerry smartphone.
Completely new operating system will be used by RIM which is built by QNX software systems according to the newspaper. QNX was bought by RIM earlier this year. Open platform operating system of QNX is deployed through multiple business sectors including industrial, automotive, telecommunications, medical, defense and aerospace.
