On Thursday, Microsoft said “Halo: Reach” is new video game collected $200 million in the first day of sales. It is the new version of blockbuster video game series “Halo”, Halo: Reach went on sale this week. More than 34 million copies have been sold in nine years since its launch.

At the Tokyo Game Show, Phil Spencer, vice president of Microsoft Game Studios said, this is more than any game, movie or any other entertainment experience which was launched in 2010. He also said, launch of “Halo: Reach” has helped in attracting many gamers to the Xbox Live, online game system of Microsoft.

Over its lifetime, “Halo” has collected nearly $2 billion in sales. Game is created by Bungie and the rights of the franchise are owned by Microsoft. Users can get the basic version of the game for $60 and for $80 and $250 with some special additions. Special Xbox console and new version of the game is being sold by Microsoft for $400. Depending on the memory size an Xbox usually cost $200 or $300.
