Video, Music Streaming Service By Sony
The new program by Sony is scheduled to be out in five European countries including Britain this autumn. It will bring video, music, games and e-books on Sony devices including PlayStation 3, TV’s and Vaio computers.
It will be in competition directly with iTunes, and according to sources Amazon is also working on an online TV on demand service. While launching its product at the IFA consumer electronics conference on Wednesday in Berlin, Sony said it is trying to build on the experience of PlayStation Network, online games platform and it has more than 40 million users.
This new program called as Qriocity will be launched in Italy, France, Germany and Spain along with Britain later this year. It will allow the users to download film titles from 20th centrury Fox, MGM Studios and Paramount Pictures.
Head of Sony’s Networked Products and services Group, Fujio Nishida said, “We are excited to offer our customers high-quality, cloud-based entertainment experiences across many of Sonys network-enabled devices.”
