Today is a memorable and record setting day for Microsoft. It depends on you to decide whether it is a good thing or not. According to a press release by Symantec today, Microsoft will be setting the record for number of patches sent in one months of time, and it would be a tie in record for total number of weaknesses since it started its Patch Tuesday program of sending out the patches when it is necessary.

This is good news for Microsoft, that it was able to find the security holes. But not a good news for people who were affected by number of problems. Some of these patches affect security holes in IE 8, this allows hackers to gain access of your computer. Other patches which were sent are to prevent drive-by download kind of attacks which can affect users when they visit maliciously designed websites.

Two of the patches addressed critical issues of Microsoft word, and most of the users do not know that it is unsafe. This patch works to close a vulnerability which can allow malware attack when the file is opened.
