It has been just 48 hours since the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty was released into the market and already 1.5 million copies have been sold worldwide, which is almost equal to the sales of original game in first year. Only in 24 hours, 1 million games were sold and it is being considered as the best selling launch title of the year for PC, and it is the fastest selling strategy of all time. This game has been out since one week so we still have lot of time to assess the sales figure.

More than 11 million copies of original game of StarCraft II have been sold in 12 years between the games. And if this continues then this series can also reach the same figure in another couple of years. The game, Wings of Liberty was released on July 27th in North America, Europe, Australia, Russian New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Brazil. “We launched StarCraft II in 11 different languages and on 5 different continents because we wanted to make sure as many players as possible were able to log on and play on day one,” said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said in a press release.
