BlackBerry Torch From RIM To Compete With iPhone
RIM (Research In Motion) revealed a new BlackBerry with the intention of competing with Apple’s iPhone and other smartphones. But according to analysts, the handset won’t wash out the competition. BlackBerry Torch’s feature include, slideout keyboard, touch screen and they are well known in the industry, but investors are somehow disappointed with the handset.
BlackBerry Torch will be available in US market from August 12 for $199.99 with a two year contract. The price is almost similar to iPhone. It is being said that, BlackBerry’s operating system is much better and web browser is easier to use. “RIM is playing catch-up. This is clearly the upgrade for BlackBerry users, but otherwise not a lot here is super exciting,” Altimeter analyst Michael Gartenberg said.
According to AT&T, this is the best BlackBerry phone ever but it did not say how much it is going to spend on advertising of the phone. In BlackBerry Torch you can type the messages on the screen or slide out the keyboard to type the messages. It also has 5 megapixel camera with flash system and built-in GPS is also included.
