If you are thinking to buy bumper for your iPhone 4 from Apple’s website, it says they are not available anymore. This may be because of the announcement made by Apple that it will be giving the bumpers for free to the iPhone 4 buyers. Apple had announced free bumpers for all those people who buy iPhone 4 to help them overcome the problem of reception which have been reported by the users.

This offer will start soon according to Apple. According to Steve Jobs, bumpers will be given free of charge to iPhone 4 buyers but for only those who want one. Since all the bumpers will be given to users, if you want to buy a new one from Apple’s website, it is not available. Users have complained about antenna and reception problem in new iPhone 4 when they hold it in their left hands. It blocks the signal of that portion of the antenna. When they use bumpers, it insulates the antenna of the phone from coming in contact with hand and prevents signal loss. After the release of iPhone 4, around 3 million phones have been sold, but the problem is, Apple doesn’t have that many bumpers to provide them to each user.

But, providing the cases is not a permanent solution for this problem and Consumer Reports is not ready to recommend iPhone 4 to anyone until a permanent fix from Apple.
