Microsoft’s chief executive Steve Ballmer said, the company is working on a tablet computer project to compete with Apple iPad. He said, the company has been working with other partners like Toshiba, HP, Lenovo, Dell and Asus to come up with a tablet computer which could compete with Apple’s iPad which is very popular these days. “We have to make things happen with Windows 7 on slates,” Ballmer told financial analysts.

Ballmer looked like he in urgency to bring this device into the market as soon as possible, he said, he is just waiting for hardware partners and as soon as they are ready, they will start the shipping. He said, he wants to compete with Apple and they have to make things happen sooner. Microsoft wants to deliver such products which people really want to buy and not just talks.

Couple weeks earlier, Microsoft revealed the idea of developing flagship, dual screened tablet computers which was called Courier, but announcement was made by Microsoft saying that, it would not be continuing the project and it was just one of those many ideas, but they will not be developing the courier products.
