According to a recent report, Sky will fully launch its 3D channel in October 1, but it will be only available to those people who have Sky + HD package and a television which is 3D enabled. Sky’s chief executive said, “As with High Definition, 3D is set to transform the way TV is enjoyed in homes nationwide. Following hot on the heels of the success of 3D cinema, Sky customers will now be the first anywhere in Europe to experience 3D TV from the comfort of their living rooms.”

The 3D station from Sky is the first of its kind in Europe, and it is available in more than 1500 pubs across UK from April, and Premiere League Matches have been broadcast. 3D channel is compatible with Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Song television sets, but this is only available to HD and Sky Package subscribers.

Users with all these features in their television sets should call customer service of their TV if they want to activate the channel. It is not clear, how many people have bought 3D television sets so far, but retailers said, people are showing interest in those kinds of sets.
