New download store for the high street music shop HMV has been launched which is called as “Hmvdigital”, and according to the music analysts, this is the last chance and hope for the company to retain the customers who still buy CD’s. Online store is bringing 5 free songs for new subscribers and selling top 40 songs for 40 pence and even some albums for just 4.99 pounds. The price is almost less than half of what other online music stores have been charging.

Hmvdigital has search capabilities and people can also pre order digital albums and buy downloads as a gift to others. It is selling almost 10 million songs and you will be able to synchronize their purchase into iTunes and WMP by using download manager in the site. According to analysts, this is the last chance and hope for the company to stay in the market. It has to integrate with the experience of high street shop if it wants to keep its customers.

HMV had every chance of becoming UK’s leader in digital music space but it lost the opportunity. Though the company is didn’t seize for the moment, company was scared to accelerate the decline of business. Analysts even said, HMV needs to save what is left and to survive, it has to merge hmvdigital into high street shop experience. Being digital is the only way to keep customers, because no one buys physical CD’s now. And HMV has every potential to get hold of its customers through downloads and digital music.
