Yahoo Japan has signed a partnership deal with Google despite of its 10 year deal with Microsoft Bing already. This move was announced by Yahoo Japan along with the statement of first quarter earnings, this was a shocking news in entire technology world. Earlier deal with Microsoft Bing was signed recently in February. Yahoo Japan is not owned by Yahoo Inc as it only owns 35 percent stake.

Yahoo Japan is a very popular search engine used in the country, it is in the first place, Google is on second place, and Microsoft Bing is on third place, this figure is found by Nielsen Online Net View from October 2008.  This will be a major change in the industry but users will see no difference, since both the search operators will have their own identity.

This deal was announced in 2009, but they were waiting for the green signals from regulators from both the parties before they could start the procedures. According to The European Commission, since Microsoft and Yahoo have captured less than 10 percent of the market in Europe, and Google has captured 90 percent of it, the deal increased the competition in the market.
